How to Use the STEAMRS Garment Steamer – A Complete Guide

We’re thrilled you’ve discovered our garment steamer! We’ll teach you how to use your new travel steamer as efficiently as possible to refresh and de-wrinkle your clothes. Below, you'll find helpful tips on getting the most out of the STEAMRS Luxury Handheld Steamer.

Step-by-Step Guide: How to Use the STEAMRS Handheld Steamer

A garment steamer like the STEAMRS handheld model is a fantastic tool for quickly and efficiently freshening up your clothing. Whether you’re smoothing out a delicate blouse or steaming a dress on location, this steamer makes it simple. In this guide, we’ll walk you through each step, share techniques for the best results, and explain why the STEAMRS steamer is perfect for various situations.

1. Remove the Water Tank
Start by detaching the water tank from the steamer. This is typically done by sliding the reservoir downward.

2. Fill the Tank with Water
Lift the clear tab on the tank and fill it with water. Tap water is fine, but we recommend using distilled water to prevent limescale buildup. Alternating between tap and distilled water can extend your steamer’s life and help maintain high steam quality.

3. Let the Steamer Heat Up
After inserting the filled tank back into the steamer, plug the device into a power outlet. It takes about 20 seconds to heat up. The indicator light will turn green when it’s ready for use. That means the steamer has reached the optimal temperature and you can begin.

4. Steam Your Garment
Press the steamer head against the fabric and hold down the steam button to release steam. For best results, use your free hand to gently pull the fabric taut while steaming. You can also use the STEAMRS steam glove for extra protection and better grip. During use, the light may switch from green to orange and back—this simply means the device is regenerating steam. Our tip: don’t worry too much about the light, and continue steaming as normal.

5. Experiment with Steam Directions
Try steaming both vertically and horizontally depending on the garment or surface. Bonus tip: try steaming from the inside of the garment—this can help remove stubborn wrinkles even more effectively.

6. Refill the Water Tank After 7–10 Minutes
A full tank provides around 7 to 10 minutes of continuous steam. When the water runs out, you’ll hear and feel a noticeable change in the device’s behavior. Simply refill the tank to keep going.

STEAMRS makes it easy to look polished, refreshed, and wrinkle-free in no time—wherever you are.
