The story behind the design
The story of our Clothes Brush began with a simple frustration: endlessly removing pet hair from clothing. We decided to create a solution and developed a brush with millions of micro-bristles that work magnetically on fabric particles and hairs. But being functional wasn’t enough for us; it also had to look beautiful. The only brushes we could find on the market were cheap plastic ones in (in our opinion) ugly, bright colors. In keeping with our other products, we wanted our Clothes Brush to have a chic, Scandinavian minimalist design, with a matte black finish and lightweight construction for optimal ease of use.
Materials
What we told the factory about making our brush: "It should be a luxurious brush, with a sturdy handle and a coating with a chic matte rubber finish. A brush that is compact and not too heavy, yet sturdy and very high quality. With the STEAMRS brush, you’re not bringing plastic junk into your home, but a very chic accessory."
To make the brush sturdy and durable, we use recycled ABS material and recycled polyester. Designing and developing the bristles was a challenge. We wanted a material that was soft and gentle on all types of fabric, but also strong enough to effectively remove hairs, lint, and pills. In the end, we created a unique system with thousands of micro-bristles that are gentle on fabrics while being incredibly effective at attracting and trapping unwanted hairs. The result is an ideal brush that is not only functional, but also a beautiful addition to any home and clothing collection.
The self-cleaning feature
Along with a functional design, we also wanted cleaning the brush to be a breeze. That’s where the clever design comes in: the inside of the brush is lined with the same micro-bristles as the brush itself, but they face in the opposite direction. This creates a unique effect when you insert the used brush (with hairs and lint on it) into the casing and then pull it back out. All the hairs stick to the inside of the casing and collect in the small collection tray at the bottom of the brush.
This clever mechanism makes cleaning the brush effortless and saves time. No more hassle of manually removing hairs from the brush. With just a few simple movements, the brush is completely clean and ready to use again. The small collection tray catches all the hairs and lint, so you can easily empty it over the trash can.
